Vermont Driver’s License
DriverEducation:
If you're younger than 18 years old in Vermont, you will be required to enroll in a driver education class in order to get your driver's license. There are no exceptions to this rule.
To get a jump-start on the class, do yourself a favor and get your hands on a Vermont
Driver's Manual. Not only will it explain the licensing process in detail, but it will also educate you on the rules of the road.
Driving courses are administered by private companies who are licensed by the state. According to Vermont law, the driving course must consist of at least 30 hours of classroom time, six hours of actual driving, and six hours of riding as a passenger and observing. Upon passing the course, you will receive an official Driver Education Certificate. This will serve as your validated proof of completion when you apply for your license.
You are free to enroll in any of the state-approved driver training schools. Many, conveniently, also provide state-endorsed driver license testing.

Vermont Speeding Ticket Info
How Do I Pay My Ticket?
Vermont classifies all traffic citations as civil violations, making a ticket for running a stop sign sound more severe than it really is. Despite the dire tone of "civil violation," such an offense is not considered a crime―but it does get recorded on your driving record.
The back of your ticket will contain all the information you will need to know: court dates, fees, payment deadlines, addresses, and phone numbers.
The state allows you 20 days to pay your traffic fine, unless of course, you decide to contest the ticket. If you choose to fight, you must submit the ticket with a plea of "DENIED."
You will then be required to make at least one court appearance to state your case in front of a judge, where it will be your word against the officer who issued you the ticket.
What If I Can't Find My Ticket?
There's no need to lay awake and ask yourself, "How am I going to find my ticket?" Parking tickets, speeding tickets, and other moving and non-moving citations can easily be sent to you simply by calling the jurisdiction where the infraction occurred and explaining the situation. You should call the traffic court division or the police department. If the department you call can't help you, they'll be able to transfer you to the correct department, or give you the phone number in question.
