Texas Speeding Ticket Info

How can I pay my speeding tickets?

The way in which you can go about paying your traffic ticket while in Texas varies from county to county, sometimes even from town to town. Generally speaking, the ticket itself will contain the necessary information required to pay the fine, or at least provide a way for you to contact the court to discuss other available options. Most courts and offices will accept personal checks. Some may even accept credit or debit cards also. Certain offices are not equipped to handle cash, and some may require a cashier's check / money order rather than a personal check. Be sure to call in advance.

Will I have to appear in Court?

In most cases, the ticket will inform you that if you desire, you may appear in court to fight the charges bestowed upon you. Sometimes, the ticket does not give you a choice of paying a fine, but rather it provides you with a date in which you must appear in court. If you have in fact been given a legitimate court date, be sure to show up at the exact time, date, and place as indicated on the citation. If you fail to do as instructed, the Judge may issue a bench warrant for your arrest.
