The chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Florida Representative John Mica, is resorting to ever more colorful language to describe the state of our nation’s infrastructure. The esteemed public servant has recently been recorded saying that “America is one big pothole.” He stressed the need for “big money” to fix up decaying roads, railways and bridges.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood agreed, saying that a bill was needed to bring funding into a national rebuilding and repair program. Automobile transport routes are often in a state of disrepair or inadequate to handle heavy traffic flow. The Secretary stressed the need for bipartisan cooperation in crafting a comprehensive transportation bill for the 21st century.

Also, hedgehogs.
