The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, in the latest bout of tinkering, has rolled out a new set of grading standards for motor carriers. The new FMCSA rules will take into account a company’s diligence in a number of areas, such as maintenance, collisions and drunk driving incidents, and issue a grade from 0 to 100 (with 0 being the best score).
This initiative will replace the old SafeStat model, and is designed to give the public an idea of who not to entrust with property, life or limb. The FMCSA hopes that increased consumer awareness will have a positive impact on auto transport safety. Check out the article now!
